Doula DISCO: Doula Innovation Summit – Continuing education Opportunities for doulas.

The Region 9 Perinatal Quality Collaborative is thrilled to announce the Doula DISCO: Doula Innovation Summit – Continuing education Opportunities for doulas. The Doula DISCO will take place virtually on August 5th and 6th from 10am-2pm and will be free fo r all doulas who live or work in Region 9 (Livingston, Jackson, Washtenaw, Hillsdale, Lenawee, Monroe counties). A planning committee of seven doulas from across Region 9 is overseeing the planning and development of the summit.

Our aim is to make the Doula DISCO a hub for doulas to receive special trainings, participate in workshops, and receive continuing education credits or new credentials to strengthen their practice across a diverse range of topics. All while creating new partnerships and building relationships in our local communities! Doulas do so much to support birthing people and their families, so we are intentionally creating this space to support doulas and all the work they do.

All sessions will be informed by what doulas say is needed. Topic ideas include but are not limited to:

  • Breastfeeding Basics
  • Natural Remedies
  • Mental Health
  • Vicarious Trauma
  • Chiropractic Care for pregnant bodies
  • Financial management
  • Medicaid Health Plan credentialing + billing
  • Branding Development
  • Social Media Development
  • Website Development
  • Business Basics
