Planning for Birth

Creating a birth plan

What is a birth plan?

A birth plan is a written document that helps pregnant people have the birth experience they want because it outlines their preferences during labor and delivery. The birth plan could include who you want to be with you during labor, if you want pain medication or relief, if you want the lights dimmed or music playing, and much more. Your birth plan should be shared with your care provider and support people.

Home Visiting

What is home visiting?

Home visiting is a prevention strategy used to support pregnant moms and new parents to promote infant and child health. Home visitors can be midwives, nurses, social workers, or child development strategists that come to your home to teach you skills as a new parent.
